Volusion shopping cart pros and cons
We always strive to find the best solution on the market for our clients. Webika Design is mostly know for providing best shopping cart solutions and designs that fit customers’ needs. One of our clients decided to go with Volusion Shopping cart.
Based on our experience working in ecommerce field I give Volusion strong “B”.
Here are some pros and cons of Volusion Shopping Cart.
Pros:
1. The shopping cart is very easy to use for the customers. The back end is user friendly and not packed with many features that there is no need for.
2. The customer can build as many menus as he/she needs. If you want to have “Shop by brand”, “Shop by price”, etc. there is no problem with it.
3. Customer can change the color for the blocks very easily by using Design Quickbar. Also you can change what blocks you would like to display on the home page: Best Sellers, Featured products, etc.
Cons:
1. Volusion does not give you the access to their program files, so if the developers like we are need to change the design or layout in shopping cart we need to use JavaScript and CSS, which from my stand point is not the best solution.
2. Very small SEO features. When you turn on the SEO rewriter it only renames the URL to the category number with HTML extension.
3. The categories and pages are the same. If you need to create a page, you create a category and add content. I think Pages and Categories should be separate since it is totally two different things.
At the end it is always for the customer to decide, which system he/she would like to go with. Webika Design always can help you choose right ecommerce solution for you.
